Are Ultrasonic devices painful to barking dogs and for training dogs?
No. our Ultrasonic anti barking devices produce a loud sound that dogs can hear — an ultrasonic output that is 115 dB at 0.5 meter reference and is harmless to barking dogs or when you are training dogs. The sound pressure level is well below the threshold levels for pain for dogs. This frequency range is at 25 + or - 2 KHz; humans can hear to about 14 KHz, dogs as high as 40 KHz.
Anti Barking devices work by emitting a high pitched sound to produce a startle effect, or more technically called an alpha wave interruption — (much like when we hear a smoke alarm — our hearing is not harmed but the sound gets our full attention.) The dog's reaction to the Ultrasonic bark device is alerted to the sound and therefore being repelled from the source of where the sound is emitting and changes behaviour.

Will the Anti Barking Device affect my own dog when I use it?
The Dog Repeller emits the ultrasonic sound in a 30 degree arc, so aim it away from your own dog when trying to deter other barking or aggressive dogs. Will the Antibarking device stop the dog barking?
The handheld unit is effective to stop barking dogs as the dog does not like the loud sound from the device. It is even more effective when you add words like "stop", "quiet", "no" or whatever command you normally use. The dogs learns to associate the irritating loud sound produced by the device as being a result of barking and stop barking.

What are the technical specifications of the stop barking device?
The ultrasonic unit produces output from a scanning disc at 0.5 meter, 115 dB. This frequency range is at 25 KHz ( + or - 2 KHz), humans can hear to about 14 KHz, dogs as high as 40 KHz. The benefit is to provide a startle effect, called an alpha wave interruption - (like when a human hears a smoke alarm - their hearing is not affected), the dogs’ reaction is deterred from the source of the strange sound. The sound pressure level is well below the threshold levels for pain for dogs.

Using DAZER II or HUSH?
Aim the DAZER II or HUSH at the approaching dog
Activate the DAZER II or HUSH for 1 to 2 seconds by pressing the button
If necessary, repeat to stop the animal approaching or barking
Point the silver disc at the front of the DAZER II and HUSH towards the animal. As output from the DAZER II and HUSH devices are directional, the effectiveness is reduced when used at an angle. It is often more effective to use 1 or 2 second repeated bursts rather than a constant activation. Although the animal will hear the high frequency sound at 7 meters (20 feet) or more, it is most effective and discomforting at 2 to 5 meters (5 to 15 feet). NOTE the HUSH U20 can be effective up to 10m and the HUSH UB122 up to 15m
How do you change the battery in a DAZER II device?
Turn the DAZER II over and remove the 2 screws. Remove the cover and insert new replacement batter into the back of the DAZER II ultrasonic device. Please be aware, the replacement battery must be an alkaline battery (ie RAYOVAC or Duracell are recommended). Heavy duty, rechargeable or general purpose 9 volt batteries will not work. Do dog whistles stop barking?
Dogs seem to bark at dog whistles, so the better option is to use a Stop barking device that produces a loud sound that dogs can hear and they don’t like. Using ultrasonic bark control @ 115 dBA at 0.5m and is harmless to barking dogs but will stop them barking.

How can I tell if the DAZER II is working?
There is a red LED on the top of the unit ( DAZER II). Normal operation when you depress the button you will see a bright red LED light. If your battery is flat or there is an error the LED will not light will not appear.

It’s possible to test your DAZER II unit easily using a mobile phone with a voice recording app. Watch this video on how to test the unit.
How long does the battery in the DAZER II last?
The DAZER II ultrasonic barking device, under normal conditions is good for about one thousand, one second activations. In general terms about 6 months or more. The red LED light will not operate if the battery is exhausted. Remember there is no audible sound to your hearing, so PLEASE do not point the device at your own ear. Point the device away from you at the dog and press the button once or twice to check activation. See also our video and instructions on changing the battery. Do dog whistles work to stop barking?
Dog whistles often will make a dog bark more. For effective Barkcontrol an ultrasonic output at 115 dB at 0.5m produces a loud sound that dogs can hear and harmless to stop barking dogs.
I have not heard of hand held anti barking devices are they new?

Is the sound audible to humans?
No as a general rule. The ultrasonic sound produced by the Ultrasonic dog device is not in normal human hearing range. Dogs and cats clearly hear the sound. The range 24.5 - 30 KHz.

How far does the DAZER II operate?

How do I use the DAZER II and HUSH?
Aim the DAZER II or HUSH directly at the dog. Try 1 or 2 second repeated bursts rather than constant activation. The DAZER II is most effective and discomforting at 2 to 5 meters (5 to 15 feet) and rated effectiveness is 7 meters (20 feet). HUSH U20 up to 10M HUSH UB122 is up to 15M
Expert advice is to try avoid contact with unwanted dogs, it is best to face the approaching animal, not to turn and run. They also caution not to stare at the animal or smile. The DAZER II and HUSH series devices will help you to maintain a safe zone and avoid the unwanted animal.
Is the DAZER II effected by solid objects or wind?
DAZER II and HUSH Ultrasonic sound wave cannot pass through solid objects including glass, timber fences, shrubs or brick walls. The effectiveness is reduced in windy conditions.
Is using a DAZER or Ultrasonic device illegal?
No, there are no restrictions on you using the device. Note it is different for electronic dog collars that are now illegal in some states. Read more on the RSPCA website.
At what frequency do dogs stop barking?
23KHz to 25KHz is the ideal range but from 20KHz the sound will irritate the dog. Depending on the model frequency range is at 24 - 30KHz
I am not happy with my Ultrasonic device?
So, you're not 100% happy with your purchase. We really don't want that! Simply use this form to request a refund, then return your device in the original packaging within 30 days of receipt, along with a copy of your invoice, in the protective wrapping the same way you received the unit. We suggest using a padded bag and bubble wrap, the same way you received the unit. A good way is to use the packaging supplied. We cannot refund units that are damaged by return post or units that have been misused or are outside our returns time limit of 30 days.
How dangerous are Dingoes?
While dingoes are related to our domestic dogs, they should not be considered tame. In fact, they should always be treated as wild, aggressive, and unpredictable. If you encounter a dingo, it may quickly become an aggressive fight for your life or the life of your friend or family member. That's why DAZER II assists to protect against unwanted dingo attacks and approaches.
